§ 01, The Ride
The
plan,

as it is.
On Friday 5 June 2026, eight FTBK trustees, our CEO, and a few brave friends will set off from Yarmouth at dawn to cycle 105km around the Isle of Wight. We said 100. We meant 100. The route says 105. Anyway.
Most of us haven't been on a bike in two years. None of us are cyclists. There's 1,265 metres of climbing. There will be walking. There will be regret. There will, with any luck, be a finish line.
We're doing this because we believe in Free To Be Kids, a charity that supports underprivileged and vulnerable young people through therapeutic residentials and mentoring, using the power of being in nature. The kind of support that quietly changes how a child sees themselves and what they believe is possible.
We're aiming to raise meaningful funds. And we've found a way to make every pound count double.

From 2 to 16 June 2026, the Big Give Champions for Children campaign matches every donation to participating charities pound-for-pound. FTBK will be there, and our ride sits right in the middle of that window.

If you're a UK taxpayer and tick Gift Aid when you donate, FTBK can claim an extra 25p on your original £1. So £1 from you becomes £2 through the match, and £2.25 once Gift Aid is added.
